Maximum length: 0.2 - 0.7 mm
Maximum depth: 3 - 200 m
It belongs to the family Pandalidae.
There are only 3 species in the family Thalassocaris, they have 2 pairs of light organs,
one at the base of the upper jaw and one directly behind the fifth leg on each side.
All 3 species are distributed in the Indo-West Pacific.
Description Thalassocaris crinita: Long rostrum, with 8 strong teeth on the upper side
and 3 strong ones on the underside,
massive claws on the 2nd pair of legs,no claws on the 1st pair of legs.
Translucent body with dark eyes.
