Short-lived animals: lifespan 1 - 2 years.

Females are sexually mature from the 6th month, they have a high fertility

which is necessary given their short lifespan.

They always live associated with the reef, on soft bottoms, muddy or sandy bottoms.

Predominantly nocturnal, often burrowed in the sandy bottom during the day.
