Introduction
It is often referred to colloquially as the yellow-spotted scorpionfish.
According to the literature,
they like to live in the branches of Poccilipora corals
at depths of 2 to 15 metres.
I was lucky enough to be able to photograph one quite freely,
normally they never show themselves so openly.
Poisonous.
Sebastapistes cyanostigma
Yellospotted scorpionfish, Coral scorpionfish
or Pink and yellow scorpionfish
Maximum length: 10 cm
Depth: 3 - 20 m
This colourful species lives very hidden, alone or in small groups of stony corals.
Very difficult to photograph as they immediately disappear deep into the coral.
